The blog will start up again around the middle of August.

Sign Up for News Clips – A Daily Round-Up of Education News

A few of you have recently asked how to sign up to receive the daily News Clips compiled by the Communications Department. The News Clips is a short compilation of state and national education news sent daily by email to agency leaders, board members and agency and district staff who have subscribed. It is an overview from various state and national media outlets and other websites – it is by no means an exhaustive list. If you’d like to be added to the list, just send an email to comms@heartlandaea.org

Here is a sample of the clips:
Please find listed below today's local and national education news headlines courtesy of the Heartland AEA Communications Department. Some media sources require digital access subscriptions. News clips receivers are responsible for setting up their own digital access for these media sources. Heartland AEA is unable to provide this digital access for our news clips receivers. We thank you for your understanding.

Focus on Financial Wellness

We all know how having a healthy body can contribute to our well-being, but what about how having a healthy financial situation can contribute to well-being? When your finances are in check, the rest of your life can seem more manageable. On the other hand when your finances seem to be in chaos, it can make life seem overwhelming.

Did you know that 80% of workers polled nationally indicate they want their employer to provide financial wellness education? Consider where we are as a society today:
  • 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck – Wall Street Journal
  • 30% of Americans have outstanding loans on their 401(k)s – Business Record
  • #1 cause of stress is money problems and money fights – multiple studies
