Agency’s Crisis Action Plan Updated

An updated version of the Agency’s Crisis Action Plan can be found on the Intranet > Human Resources > Agency Information & Policies > Crisis Action Plan or by clicking here

The Agency’s Crisis Planning Committee is continuing to improve the plan and incorporate suggestions from Homeland Security and will be working to increase staff members’ awareness of our crisis plan, implementing fire and tornado drills and increasing training for agency crisis responders about their roles and responsibilities as responders. If you have any questions or feedback, contact Dustin Gean at dgean@aea11.k12.ia.us.

Air Ducts to be Cleaned in Ames Office

If you are planning to be in the Ames office during the week of March 18, please note that the air ducts in the office will be cleaned during that time. There is a possibility of noisy sections of the building, but quiet areas should be available for staff members who wish to temporarily relocate to other areas of the office.

While we know this may cause a little inconvenience for some, the cleaning will improve the air quality in the office and create a cleaner environment for staff and visitors. Thanks for your patience and understanding! If you have any questions, contact Dustin Gean, Operations Manager, at dgean@aea11.k12.ia.us.

Teacher Quality Stipends Listed Below

This year a stipend of $550 will be given for a class or study group and $115 will be paid for a three-hour technology workshop. The planning group has proposed that technology workshops begin in the fall next year and that classes and study groups begin in the fall or January. This will hopefully give staff members more flexibility in their schedules to participate.

Capacity Building Update

The Agency’s Capacity Building and Job-Alike work teams have been working on plans for next year. The goal is to have all information to pertinent staff members by the end of May, which we hope will alleviate issues with scheduling. A survey will be sent out to staff in the next week to gather input on your experience with Capacity Building this year.
