  1. Is this the most current handbook?

  2. In the Handbook, it mentions that there are social committees for the branch offices and an "Events Committee" for the Johnston office through which social activities must be approved. The "Johnston Events Committee" was dissolved after last year's holiday luncheon, per vote by the Committee itself and recommendation of Heartland Leadership. Can someone tell me what the Events Committee mentioned in the handbook does and who is on this Committee? Thank you.

  3. In the new handbook it says potlucks and other types of celebrations are forbidden. What is the underlying reason for taking away this very enjoyable attempt at camaderie?

  4. The agency has an Events Committee for agency-wide events, e.g. the All-Staff meeting. They choose the two philanthropic events that the agency does each year, plan the retirement event and the years of service recognition. The members of the committee are Brenda Gustafson (chair), Terri Barnes, Dave Booth, Jodi Capps, Courtney Croatt, Arletta Dawson, Chris Jeffryes, Maxine Kilcrease, Sheila King, Sharon Kurns, Lynn McCartney, Jan Morgan, Julie Sypersma and Jenny Ugolini.

  5. No where in the handbook does it say that potlucks are being taken away. The handbook only indicates that parties should be held during lunch and after work. Potlucks are generally held during breaks and lunch. This deals with an event that takes more than a few minutes during work time. For example: holding a baby shower at 2:00 p.m. and having everyone in the shower for a couple of hours is not acceptable. But, having a potluck where everyone can come on their breaks and lunchtime is acceptable.
