The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BoEE) has seen an increase in the number of reported incidents of falsification of special education data recently, which has resulted in the BoEE asking the special education directors from Iowa’s AEAs to ensure that all educators understand our professional responsibilities related to special education data collection and progress monitoring.
To assist in this review, AEA special education directors have provided this written summary of our responsibilities. We ask all Heartland AEA staff and administrators to read and review the written summary. Thank you for your efforts on behalf of students.
