Iowa Core Curriculum: Effective Instruction Summer Institute
Educators will deepen their understanding of the Iowa Core Curriculum’s characteristics of effective instruction to create a common understanding around the types of instruction in which we want all students to be consistently engaged to improve student learning. Through collaborative team activities, featured presenters and district discussions and planning, educators will engage in deep levels of study of instructional practices that focus on student learning, with an emphasis on assessment for learning practices. These core collaborative teams will prepare to provide supportive and shared leadership in their districts and be given opportunities to share personal practice.
