Grant Wood & Keystone AEAs Hire New Chief Administrators

The Grant Wood AEA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of a new chief administrator for the Agency. Joe Crozier, currently the Chief Administrator for Great Prairie AEA, was selected from a field of nine applicants. Crozier will succeed Ron Fielder, who is retiring and has been Chief Administrator at the Agency since 1987.

Crozier has held educational administrative positions in Iowa for the last 24 years. He became the chief administrator of Great River AEA in 2002. When the chief for Southern Prairie AEA retired in 2003, Crozier became the chief administrator of that agency as well. In 2007 the two AEAs merged, and he was named the chief administrator for the merged AEA now known as Great Prairie.

Prior to his work in the AEA system, Crozier was the superintendent of schools for Central Lee Community School District in Donnellson, Iowa. Crozier has served in several state and national leadership positions. He was the president of the national Association of Education Service Agencies in 2009-10 and president of School Administrators of Iowa in 2006-07.

Keystone AEA is pleased to announce that Gary Stumberg, currently Keystone AEA’s Director of Administrative Services, has been selected as the Agency’s new Chief Administrator. Stumberg will succeed Dr. Robert Vittengl, who is retiring and has been Keystone’s Chief Administrator since 2001.

Prior to being hired at Keystone AEA, Stumberg held positions as superintendent of the Starmont, Garnavillo and MarMac community school districts; principal at Garnavillo as well as teaching positions at C-W-L and Dows community schools.
Crozier and Stumberg will assume their new positions effective July 1, 2011.
